Loans being taken out by Hispanics and Latinos
The Hispanic and Latino communities are one and of the same. The only thing that is different is the way that banks are marketing to both communities.
One thing that remains constant is the way that Hispanics go about taking out loans. Hispanics take out loans for one reason alone, they have bad credit. That was not always the case because Hispanics used to do business with cash.
Recently more and more Hispanic and Latino individuals are taking out more loans. The reason for this is simple; they are sold a product that they think they can afford.
For Anglos the downfall is taking out enormous mortgage loans. That is not the same downfall for Hispanics. Hispanics fall into the trap of making monthly payments on stuff they want right away.
Weekends is the time for Hispanics to go out and buy stuff on credit cards. They will buy anything from funiture to cars. They think that if its a small monthly payment that they can afford it.
In the United States, Hispanics will take out credit until they can no longer afford to add another monthly payment to their budget.
This was not the case just a generation ago. Hispanics used to stay away from taking out loans. They would only pay with cash. Today there are still some that only pay with cash. For one reason, they have learned how to manage their money. But the other reason is that they cannot put their money in the bank if they are illegal immigrants.
But now you have these loan companies who are making it easy for Hispanics to take out loans and so they do. Hispanics get behind on a payment and they take out a loan.
That is why it is necessary to educate Hispanics and Latinos alike how to manage their money wisely. The loan industry is getting out of hand and Hispanics are becoming their number one returning customers.
